About Us
MARKED with Purpose is a Finnish education company dedicated to sparking positive social change by empowering young people to lead purposeful lives. Why? Because purpose creates impact on this world. It answers the question “Why am I doing this? Why does this matter? Why is this important to me?”. Purpose shows young people their potential, shows them how they matter and helps them thrive despite obstacles.
By helping youth build self-worth, nurture meaningful connections, and discover their place in the world, we are committed to prevent mental health problems, violent behavior, school dropouts and marginalization before they even begin.
Our vision
Our vision is to positively impact 1 million young lives by 2027 through a #markedwithpurpose movement where every young person embraces their uniqueness, connects deeply with themselves and others, and leads a life filled with meaning and purpose.
Our mission is to boldly tackle the issue of youth purposelessness with education that inspires and purpose that transforms. Through our transformative MARKED with Purpose programs for educators and youths, we empower young people by strengthening their positive self-perception, enhancing social-emotional skills, and providing opportunities for meaningful actions.
The Story Behind MARKED with Purpose
Imagine a world, where every individual has from a young age the skills to understand emotions, skillfully navigate them, strengthen positive self-relationship, and discover unique purpose in the world.
The vision of MARKED with Purpose was born in the class of Ida Nevalainen, when she recognized the urgent need for innovative and impactful well-being solutions for youth. Drawing from her experiences as an educator and therapeutic guide, Nevalainen witnessed the anxiety, self-criticism, and lack of direction often faced by young people.
In response, she dedicated herself to teaching pupils with essential skills for strengthening self-relationships and social-emotional skills, while emphasizing the crucial need for a personal sense of purpose in their life. The realization of a pupil underscored the significance of the practices: "There's nothing wrong with me, I just haven't understood myself."
MARKED with Purpose was born. In a world yearning for direction and connection, MARKED with Purpose stands as a beacon of empowerment, guiding young people to live fulfilling and meaningful lives while actively contributing to their communities and society at large.

Leading the Global MARKED Educator Program is Anne-Mari Kuusimäki, a dedicated educational professional with a PhD in Philosophy (Education) from the University of Helsinki. With 20 years of experience in training, Anne-Mari is a seasoned teacher, solution-focused trainer, and coach, with expertise as a solution-focused neuropsychiatric coach.

Annukka Töyri is one of the trainers in the Global MARKED Educator Program. She is an accomplished educator and doctoral researcher with a Master’s in Education and a specialization in special education. Additionally, Annukka is a certified solution-focused supervisor and neuropsychiatric coach, bringing valuable expertise and dedication to our trainings.
