Great news! MARKED was selected to participate in the second round pilot of Espoo city's project on digitalizing sports and exercise!
How does a solution that enhances students' psychological well-being relate to exercise? As we know, well-being supports an active lifestyle, and daily physical activity supports mental well-being. As part of the project, the MARKED app will be piloted with students in Espoo. The app provides students with materials that support socio-emotional skills. As students go through these materials, they also earn points that can be used for various cultural and sports services. Through this approach, the aim of MARKED's solution is not only to offer support within students' reach but also to provide opportunities and encouragement for physical activity, which is directly linked to mental well-being.
The goal of the MARKED pilot project is to inspire Espoo students to engage in physical activity, raise awareness about sports services, and encourage users of the service to learn socio-emotional skills. During the project, the effectiveness of the service will be monitored through anonymous surveys targeting users before and after the project. The objective is to determine whether the well-being and participation of students in various sports services can be strengthened through a gamified and digitally-driven service. The point system of the app aims to equalize opportunities for sports participation and lower the threshold for participation and trying out different activities.
"We are looking forward to seeing how the utilization of digital tools can increase students' participation in physical activity, while also supporting the development of socio-emotional skills. It's great that Espoo wants to be a pioneer in e-sports and boldly experiment with different solutions." - Ida Nevalainen, CEO
The project is funded by the European Union.
